Hi, I'm Vishnu.
I study applied math, statistics, and data science at UC Berkeley, with a minor in history.
I work on making AI systems safer and more reliable: post-training, evaluations, and guardrails for agents that touch real systems.

about me
I like problems where the math and the engineering meet. Most of my time goes into figuring out why AI systems fail quietly, and then building the tests and guardrails that catch it.
I've worked across startups, Microsoft, and research labs at Berkeley, and I contribute fixes to open-source AI safety and eval tools from NVIDIA, Microsoft, AllenAI, and the UK AI Security Institute.
I also love hiking, reading, film, and music.

- Agent safety. Guardrails and evals for AI agents that touch critical systems code.
- Post-training. Using reinforcement learning to steer model behavior and limit reward hacking.
- Behavior analysis. Studying model behavior through hierarchical agentic evals.
